The blade is full carbon steel, powder-coated black to fight rust and take a beating, hardened to a 58 to 60 HRC edge that bites in and holds. At a full 7 inches with 562 grams of forward weight, this cleaver was built to chop, split, and break down whatever you throw at it. Bone, brisket, squash, or a full day of meal prep, it powers through and asks for more. The tall blade face doubles as a scoop to sweep everything straight from board to pan.
